I've donated to a couple modification creators if I really like the free mod they made. Ive never donated to a forum though... My forum has received donations before, we usually thank the person with a thread talking about what they did.. I did make a donator's rank image one day a long time ago but never got around to adding it. Maybe I should do that.
I have donated quite a few times to sites over the years, whether it was for a special group to receive game downloads, to admin sites for the information and help they have given and also to one forum as well.
Some sites do ask way too much for a donation and I never give to those. I think if you chose to donate costs shouldn't be so high that it's only suitable for certain people. Every little helps. 🙂
I have the option for people to donate on my site because it helps me keep the site up. If you provide a nice forum with good content and a good community, people want to help keep it going.
I have also donated to plenty of forums that I liked. Anywhere from $10 to $50. I haven't donated anything more because most forums are not that big and small forums don't need anymore than $50 for hosting honestly. It feels good to help someone else who's put a lot of time and effort into a site even if it's only a few bucks, every penny counts.
Never, because I don't know where the money would go. It's alright saying it will go towards hosting and promotion etc for the site but it's also too easy to just sell up and go elsewhere with the donations. So I never have, nor will I.
No, I haven't but i think I may for some sites I start frequenting regularly.
I feel that is good to give back to a community that you spend so much time on.
Even if it is a dollar, show your appreciation to the owner(s) and I think I'll be doing that quite a bit in the near future.
I never really had alot to offer for donations back in the day so I didn't really think to add a sponsor/donator group and I've never donated money to a site but I (like many others) donate my time and effort into a site. 🙂
Never I go with a donation, since I don't have account on my own and my own money, haha~ It does look interesting to invest on a forum, although it is risky as well.
