Do you ever feel like giving up?

I have thought about just giving up on my forum, its an admin forum and its just about impossible to compete :/

But, I don't know, I guess I will see what happens.

Yeah our staff is pretty small too. It really just depends on whether or not you are expecting a profit right away or have the ability to wait to see a return. Also remember that all forums were small at some point, they just now have a bit of a head start.

Hang in there!

Never give in--never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

Abide by this, and you shall achieve.

I know exactly how you feel.
I just released a gaming forum with arcade on it, but I am a bit at a loss on how to get it populated. Especially since to get it working with a good theme, I would need to modify each module manually and I am not good at that.

One solution I am thinking about is actually keeping the forum I just launched active, but launch another forum in my field (music) and then connect the music forum to the gaming forum.
Or a political forum.

I had a look at IGN. They're still a very active forum and they're nicely put together. But they're not nearly as active as they once were. So I wouldn't feel too down about it--your heyday lies ahead of you, not in the rear view mirror.

I've had many times where something was going wrong on my site and I felt like giving up. But I didn't, and then things got better again.

There's always going to be something that makes people go to your site in particular, so that's why I keep going. It's easier if you have a unique niche like me. 😉

My thoughts are that you should never give up, if it's something you like and it makes you happy then you should go for it and make it happen. As long as you offer something new to make your site stand out from the rest and if that site has a hard working admin who is willing to put alot of time and money into the site then there is no reason why you can't have a successful site. 🙂

The first sentence can also be used as great advice for the outside world. 🙂

I have thought about this million of times again, and quite frankly, I have given up in the past and it does nothing but eat away at you >.<.....I do have in mind two new projects, one that I am starting up with a friend here on FP and another that will be an independent blog about something I like keeping up with and would like to use the project as an excuse to keep up with this even more!

You can guarantee from me that my new projects will NOT be going anywhere upon release...
