Nowadays there are so many sites and apps—Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp, etc .So do you ever spy on your ex on them ? 😛

I'm sure I would if I had a fresh break up to emotionally deal with. All my previous relationships ended ages ago. I was single for a long while and I've been in a relationship for the last 2+ years. So no, I have no lingering feelings or a reason to care what any of my ex's are up to on social media.

No, I don't have enough time to do that. Besides, I really don't care what she is doing with her life now lol

I haven't stalked any of my ex's online. I've kept them as friends on Facebook, and I still occasionally see their posts in my feed, but I don't think anything more of it then I would of anyone else's and I just keep scrolling.

Yeah, same here pretty much.

No, I don't spy on my ex. I am married now and so that might create problems with my current spouse if they saw me 'spying on an ex' on any type of social media or anywhere on the internet.

I know someone who actually does do this, imo they should be prosecuted 🙁

The only time someone would probably stalk an ex is if they were just dumped, and in their feelings of sadness and loneliness constantly follow that person for some sort of comfort in the following days of being dumped. Although, at the same time you're just subjecting yourself to seeing something that relates to what is causing you pain in the first place. Other than that, I don't see why anyone would need or want to stalk an ex. I don't even stalk my girlfriend right now, it's just creepy. Personal space and all that. Be interested in what someone is doing, but you shouldn't ever be going out of your way on a daily basis to see what they're up to.

I don't think I agree with this. I guess it all depends on your definition of "spying." If someone is simply viewing your public social media profile, I don't think there are any grounds for prosecution. While it may be kind of creepy, it would still be legal.

On topic, I also do not stalk my ex's profiles on Facebook. People need to learn to move on. 😛

I actually agree with pandaa on this. Just looking at someone's Facebook page for a brief minute or whatever, I wouldn't count that as spying. Now, I would view it differently if someone were looking at someone's Facebook page everyday, then I can see that as spying on someone or stalking them.

Im talking about someone who spends all their time nosing through not only their ex's facebook but through (as far as they can) through the facebook of anyone else their ex knows family or friends to try and monitor their activities, in my book that is spying/stalking, just having a quick look is not what the op implided they asked about spying.

Thing is, how can you or anyone else prove that person is doing that? You can say they did, but then it turns into a game of he said she said, and unless it's causing notable harm or danger to the person concerned, I can't imagine the matter being investigated to find a decent amount of evidence of their actions or measures being put into place to ensure that person doesn't keep doing it.

Nope, I have never spied on any of my formers on the interwebs; why would I do that anyways?
