Yeah I do. I started my admin forum and was active daily and started burning out. It wasn’t because of forums tho. It’s because I put too much on my plate.
So my newest approach, is to be active when I can. I’ll try to login every day to every other day and post a new topic and make some replies.
I don’t want to quit running the community, so I’m going to try to invest when I can. I think that’s important for online community management, is to invest when you’re able to rather than to try to bite off more than you can chew.
When you try too hard, that’s when you start to burn out.
Burn-out is quite common when we take on too much. When I start to feel overwhelmed, I know it's time for me to take a step back & see what I can cut down on. While I love helping & supporting forums, I have found those forums where the Admin doesn't even care, I tend to stop posting myself.
Yes this has happened to me numerous times. When you feel a burnout coming, it's best to take a day or two off to refresh. This is what I do, and then I get that drive to continue posting again. 🙂
I can get very burnt out just trying to catch up on a forum or at least trying to keep up 😛 If you have been away from a site for two weeks or maybe 5 months then you would see how much new and old content you missed. More so on other people's sites than my own.
This happens mostly on paid to post forums where you would have to strive to meet daily targets. On normal forum, you just do what you can and there is no pressure for you.
