Yes I have a savings account that I keep for big repairs for the house or car. Now that my mortgage is paid off I can add more to it so that if anything unexpected happens I will be prepared.
I definitely do have an emergency fund and i think that it is very important for everyone to have one at some or the other point in their career. A certain amount has to be set aside monthly to account for unforeseen circumstances, especially in such a rapidly changing economy.
At the moment due to the cost of living crisis and also running into issues with receiving money that I should have received but still haven't, I don't have an emergency fund at the moment as I have had to pull a lot of money back to be able to afford to live and pay bills. I am hoping once things finally settle that I will be able to add to the fund again and build it back up again though.
Yes, I have an emergency fund. It's important to have one because unexpected expenses can come up at any time, and having a fund set aside can help alleviate the stress and financial strain that comes with those situations.
Up until a few years ago due to a single bad investment I never really earned enough income to save. That changed when I cashed in my pension and started dabbling in the stock market. Whether by luck or judgment I now have enough saved to keep me going for the rest of my life.
No, but it would have been very smart to have done so. I don't think most Americans do have such a fund or even a truly substantial amount left in savings.
I currently don't however I've been thinking about opening a savings account again to start saving up some money. You just never know what could happen, life is full of surprises and sometimes they're not good surprises either.
Yeah I have a small fund available as well, but also have additional funds just in case. I feel like having an emergency fund or even savings is particularly a good idea with the rising inflation.
