Do you have regrets?

My main regret is not moving away from ZetaBoards sooner.

I spoke about it seriously with my staff in 2014. There was a general agreement that we should move; however, we couldn't reach a decision on where to move to. Some wanted to move to ProBoards; others (including myself) wanted IcyBoards; and still others wanted Jaxboards. We never managed to get out of this impasse - and so, nothing happened. The idea remained at the back of my mind through 2015 and 2016; however, I was feeling a bit burnt out at the time, and simply didn't have the motivation to go through with such a major project.

Then, in 2018, ZetaBoards announced that they would be, ahem, 'upgrading' their boards to Tapatalk. I didn't trust them at all -and so, I prepared to make the move to IcyBoards that I had wanted to make four years earlier (I did also check XenForo and I liked it a lot, but didn't want to commit to spending $140 on it only to discover a deal-breaker later on, and also my staff were more familiar with MyBB). Then, when IcyBoards announced that they were shutting down too, we hurriedly switched to self-hosting.

Since moving to the new board, I've had a blast with it. MyBB may be no XenForo, but it's still a major improvement over what ZetaBoards was offering. I really wish I'd stuck to my guns in 2014, and gone ahead with that move >_< .

There's one forum that I regret selling. When I was younger, I use to get frustrated/bored with sites and then end up closing them or even selling them. I had a discussion board that was doing somewhat well, we had just hit 10,000 posts but activity had gone down a bit. I got frustrated and sold it (for a decent amount) but I've wondered if it could have done well if I stuck with it. It's sad to see it now because it was merged with some other forums but is basically dead now.

I've can actually relate to this entirely. I would open a forum, get really into it for a while, maybe host a contest here and there, all of a sudden BOOM!!! I've lost interest and either sell the site for FP cash or flat-out close it. I'm determined to not let that happen this time . Shouldn't have to either, as I have way more time on my hands now than when I first started.

I don't have any regrets. I made the decision to live my life with no regrets and only looking forward. It's worked so far and I don't plan on changing that. Regretting my past will do nothing positive for me.
