I used to years ago when we had AOL & could do those You've got mail because I did the Powerpuff Girls Mojo Jojo lol Anybody use that back then? Now I don't bother with any sound for dings.

Annoying dings and dongs, while you are talking to people or streaming, can be a butthole. My LAptop notifications are on for DIscord and my other PC goes to silent while it's activated to not go off.

I do on my phone but I don't on my computer. I'm in the process of trying to find a different job so I've been keeping my phone on me a lot more to make sure I don't miss a phone call after I've applied somewhere.

My PC is mostly all muted sounds and my phone is very selective with what goes off via a noise. I try my best to only hear things that may need immediate attention or are otherwise important. So stuff like social media, emails, and nearly all my non-messaging apps, are things that I either don't want to hear or I will likely end up checking anyway soon (like email).

Laptop, no. For my phone, it depends on the time. Throughout the day, I will usually have the notification sounds enabled and then I will silence it at night. I use the horn sound on iPhones for text messages which I love hearing lol

I have notifications turned up on my phone 24/7. You never know when you’re going to get a call or text about work. My laptop is always muted though.

My laptop is on my computer desk in the family room, so having sound on would bother anyone in the vicinity. If I need the sound and someone is home, I use my earbuds. So no, I don't use the sound for notifications.
