For my website hosting business what I do is go after a managed VPS provider then do the rest myself (assisting clients, doing their requests, admin the back end billing installation and so forth).
That way I pay for what needs to be paid for then do what I can reasonably deal with myself and actually understands what I am doing of course. Thus getting the "best of both worlds" as they says. 🙂
