Deleted member 49125

I’ve had to ban a few members on my forum. For me, if they are banned, they are also deleted out of the member database. If they were spammers, I will let other forum owners know so they can watch out for them. However, if they were just a disgruntled member that had a bad attitude, I keep that information private.

accounts that get ban, tend to stay ban and also listed on the database, if you delete there accounts they end up joining your website again Xd

I keep them banned, however I get so much spam and fake accounts nowadays that I end up with 500 pages of ban accounts 😛

We have a thread on Christianity Haven for the worst offenders just so we can try to remember who is who when they return...and they almost always return with a new account! Sometimes I ban them right away, but other times I see if they're ready to behave and don't let them know I am aware of who they really are.

I delete spammers, therefore, their accounts and content will be deleted. However, when I ban members for violations, their accounts will be banned but their content will continue to appear on the site.

If someone gets banned they stay banned on my forum as I never ban too quickly and it's never for something very small either. If I ban someone and it's a permanent ban I will keep a note in a staff forum of the username and any other details that may help us find out if the person tried to evade the ban to help keep the forum safe and free from issues.

Based on previously being an admin here, and other sites I have been part of moderation or administration on, I prefer to keep a long log of info on each person that I was involved with in implementing a ban, as some bans that I've seen implemented over the years, always have a generic response to what the actual reason behind the ban was. I've had to reverse a few bans on one particular forum, because of the one issuing the ban, did not see the actual issue, and assumed that what the person did, was good enough for whatever ban reason the person filled in.
