Do you know a good free directory script?

I am looking for a script that offers you to list websites or forums and members can't just join without your approvel or you can add a setting no members can join and the admin can only add sites.

SEO friendly links, and such would be welcome.

If you can afford it I'd recommend http://www.phplinkdirectory.com which starts at only $30. It's a great script and well worth the money IMO.

They used to offer a free version aswell. Not sure if they still do. I can't find it on their site after having a quick look though.

They did but have since removed it. Sites that use the free version can continue to use it, but if you are setting up a new directory you need to purchase the script.

If you use Softaculous you will find they still hold the free version. Well most of the hosts that host Softaculous have that in their software list.
