Do you know First Aid/CPR? I had to learn it and get certified when I was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, but haven't taken the courses in years. I know that some things have changed in the past 15 years.

I do not know first aid/CPR, and I don't ever intend to learn it. If you have a medical emergency while you're with me, let's hope the ambulance shows up quickly. 😛

I'm surprised with your past line of work that it wasn't required of managers to know FA/CPR? It's kind of interesting to take the courses at least once.

I was never even drug tested at my last job, so something like that being required, nah. The vast majority of managers didn't even have pharmacy tech licenses. 😛

But in all seriousness, there's a pharmacist present the vast majority of business hours, and they would have been my go to if a medical emergency occurred.

Nope but one day I'll learn.
Same.

There should be more funding put into this sort of thing to give more people the chance to learn it. I know most first aid courses in New Zealand are generally over $100. It doesn't seem like a great investment if I don't believe I'll use it and a lot of other people have that mindset because of the cost involved.

Driving lessons are mostly funded for those on low incomes in New Zealand to help them get into employment for example. I don't know why first aid can't be either as it's useful on jobs and some jobs even ask if you've got your first aid certificate.

Done some minor training to update myself last year. Most of it was what I remember back when I initially was certified when I was 19. Wish the business that had done update training with me, had the equipment that the training suggested to have with the business type (on site defibrillator).

I'm a pro at using Band-aids. Anything whatsoever past that, I have no clue, and I'm probably the worst person imaginable to handle any sort of situation. I get a bit sick at the sight of blood.

I did learn CPR but do not count on me to save your life, honestly. I can use items in a first aid kit and by that I mean alcohol pads, band-aids, ointments, and that's about it.

I do the two-day class every three years, they say I'm 110% mouth to mouth on females.😀

Yes. I had to learn First Aid and CPR last year as I was studying Child Care in College.
I am not the person to count on when it comes to CPR though.

My partner is a nurse/health visitor so I've a pretty decent knowledge when it comes to first aid.
