I've defraged my computer before but that was for an old Win98 one at the time, and it took ages to do. I even did it for this one but can I just ask though... 2% fragmented isn't all that bad, no?
You can also go one step further and just download ccleaner, you'll notice a slight improvement after you've cleaned your registry and got rid of your old files.
I think it has been eons since we last did a defrag on our home desktop. It is an old one, a 32-bit processor with 500 GB of internal hard disk storage. From what I remember, we defrag the hard disk about twice in a year although when the system disk crashed some years back, we replaced it with another 500 GB but this time, the contents are less than half of the capacity. That means we have a spare space of 250 GB which is quite big that save us the effort of doing a defrag. By the way, defragging the hard disk takes more than an overnight process.
What I do allot is what windows 10 has built into the system
Right click on C drive (in my computer)
Properties
Disk cleanup
Click "Clean up system files"
wait...
Then click all boxes and will say 32GB for those that used it for the first time.
ok, and ok and done
I don't defrag my personal computer too often. I only do it for clients. Windows 10 is easy because you can do it just by pulling up Cortana. After that it's guided step by step.
