Do you like crossovers?

For those who don't know what they are, it's an episode where characters from one TV show appear in another TV show.
I don't like them especially when I don't watch the other shows lol Example: Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl , Legends of Tomorrow had crossovers. I only really watched The Flash so got quite confused when they had these crossovers as you had to watch the other half on the other show to keep up to date with what's going on.
What do you think of them? Why do you think TV shows incorporate them? I think it's to get more viewers.

Watching a series with the actor then watch another different TV series with the same actor in that show but fully different. I never had that problem. Then again I do not watch TV anymore and watch streaming content.

But yeah, I would dislike that myself also. thinking as the same name and it's not.

I don't know if it qualifies but one of the very few things I had to watch and rather enjoyed was Star Trek: Picard.

They do it all of the time in DC and Marvel. It depends how they execute it. Marvel is great at doing it (Avengers) while DC is super cringey when it tries doing it in its tv shows like Super Girl and The Flash.

I watch a TV show called Chicago Fire and there have been a few times when they have done crossovers with other TV shows that are part of the same family which are Chicago PD and Chicago Med. We used to get crossovers quite frequently but it's been a while since we saw a crossover between those TV shows. When they do them though they are really good and I really enjoy them.

Chicago Fire
I love that show, I have been watching it since 2012 when they first aired it 🙂 then I watched Chicago PD after 😉 they have Chicago fire, PD, med and one other, don't they? all done by the same team.

We only started watching both shows this year and we agree that we enjoy when there are crossovers. The characters are really interesting and we like seeing them interact.

Crossovers are great for promotions. They can be confusing if done in the wrong context. Most of the fictional universe stuff doesn't seem to last long in the said universe unless owned by the same entity in a self-contained way. They are okay, but the flow somehow has to be related to both characters. Jordan Fringe has some good examples like Jimmy Neutron and Fairly Oddparents. But I did find this in a quick search.

I like them so long as they aren't forced or don't add any value other than just existing.

I do, particularly when it is done well and in a way that feels progressive to each of them and not like a throwaway cash-grab for each. I liked Freddy vs. Jason a lot as a kid (and even now, in spite any flaws it may have).
