Do you like Discord?

I find it okay for small groups, but I generally dislike large servers. Going to get a coffee and finding the conversation has moved 500 replies and now everyone is talking about pineapples is not exactly how I enjoy communities. I also dislike the paid services and the horror voice quality without massive user investment into the server.

I mute large servers, but there is no ending to being chaotic over there. How we evolved from forums to these shit channels is beyond me. Not to mention Reddit.
Like to gain traffic, this beats any other method. But discussion? Please....
I use Discord daily! I'm in several servers, but I mainly just limit myself to being active on one or two so as not to overwhelm myself. It's nice to be able to connect with people in an instantaneous manner. The servers I'm active in aren't too active to where the conversation shifts so quickly if you look away for a moment, which is nice, and it's largely just a close knit community of people that have similar interests. I have all my servers muted except for pings too, so I'm not being bothered too much if I'm busy with something else or just not interested in chatting too much at the time.

I'm not really into Discord.
I've used quite a few different instant messaging services over the years, especially here on FP. Back when I first got into forums, I was on sports forums, that were like 99% Americans. We all used AIM then, except I believe I used YIM to chat with a couple folks that refused to use AIM. I eventually wound up on FP, and then everyone was using MSN/Windows Live Messenger on here, so naturally I jumped on board with that. Then moved to Skype, then moved to Discord, then ultimately moved FP's staff communication on over to Slack.
I use Discord on a daily basis, but it isn't something I particularly care for. They've greatly improved the interface here lately though, so that's a plus.

I'm in 74 DIscord servers all up 😛 That's a lot and I group them in categories and my main active servers keep on top 😉 I'm not in all of them, other than read updates that may be posted but all in all I might use 4 discord servers for voice rooms
Geez, I hope you have those organized!! That's got to be a nightmare to keep up with!
I have not logged into Discord in a while. I don't mind using it and I am in a few servers. I have some servers started for different sites. But I rather have the chat on the forum than in Discord.
It is even then I get confuseed in what's what hahahahaha

I like to hang around on them. Some of the people I've met on those chat servers are pretty hilarious.
