Here I go again with my old fashioned taste. I don't like rap, sorry if you are a fan. I don't consider rap a type of music. Maybe it can pass as a mumbling or whatever but not music. That may be the reason why some rappers are embedding music or songs inside their rap to give it a semblance of music. Again, pardon me for this not so kind comment about rap.

It tends to glorify a shallow take on life - talking about sex, drugs, money etc.. In that case, it's anti-progressive, unlike soul music. In fact, there doesn't seem to be soul music now - it must have all went gospel.
I love music in general, but rap is my favorite genre. With that being said I've got to admit that rap nowadays is a bit crap. All that mumble rap that flooded the market is ruining rap's image. I prefer when rap has meaning, when it tells a story. Rappers like 2pac managed to show through their songs the problems of growing up in the ghetto, and what he went through when he went to jail. Just listen to 2pac's "Brenda's got a baby" and you'll see what I'm talking about
Right, generally rap is "bad boy" music, but at least in the past it had quality - take it or leave it.
I love rapping in the car when I'm really mad. If I rap to Eminem songs that I know really well, I can yell and scream and put emotion into it and let all of my anger out so I can calm down. 😛
