Do you lock your computer? With like a password?

I do. I'm very cautious about locking my computer when I'm not on it because I don't want anyone but me on it unless I know somebody is on it and I give them permission to do so.

What about you guys?

I don't want anybody going on my computer, but my mom and dad tend to go on my computer a lot so I had to unlock it >.>

The 2 accounts is the best way to go. I personally don't lock my computer just because I don't really have a need to. Plus windows passwords are extremely weak!!

I just use a Regular account for Windows instead of an Administrator account. I use the Regular account to browse the web, play games, and e-mail.

The Regular Account is auto-login.

I do the same for Ubuntu Linux as well. I use my Guest/Regular account for browsing the web and running applications.

I do logoff of my e-mail and social networking accounts when I do not use them.

I leave my laptop unlocked and accessible merely because I find passwords to be a pain.

My pc has a password because I have a very nosey girlfriend and if I am away from my pc for more than 2 minutes people will root around, what if they got on my hosting account and did something by mistake? :O

False. Nobody has ever hacked into my computer or anyone else's computer that I know of that has a windows password. What the heck makes you think that?

I'm guessing no one has ever tried?

Duh. Yes they have. Windows passwords are good. What do you mean?

I PW protect mine that way my little Brothers and Sisters don't get in.

I lock mine so NOBODY gets in. 😉 At least without my permission, which I'd wonder why because everybody in the family has a computer.

How do you know someone has tried to hack into your computer?

No. I meant I know other people who have.

Who have what? Tried to hack into a Windows laptop or been hacked?

It is nothing to do with windows, If you have a weak password and you get hacked it is your own fault.

I think it is good to make it long.

Which reminds me, I should change mine right now. 😉

I lock my computer when I have small kids or people I don't want on my computer to get on!

My user account on this PC has a password but I never lock it. I usually just switch user so family can use the main account.
