 That was hilarious! "You've just been pranked by prankdial.com" That really made my night! I don't prank call people in general simply because I think it's mean, but that was way too funny for words.

Thanks! I agree that it is mean, but it's also mean to spam call people by getting their number without permission. Now, would I prank call anyone else but these scammers? No, because I do agree, I find it funny when others do it, I just don't get much enjoyment myself when doing prank calls. 🙂

Very true, but you got to admit, people who do make these calls just for the sake of making a quick buck really need to get a life. They're taking advantage of how run down the financial end of the economy is, and it's not fair for us who are really trying to do something with our lives and earning a real living. I must admit though I loved that woman's reaction when you told her after a minute of talking that it was a scam. I don't remember the last time I laughed that hard.

I never did something like that, but I heard that if someone prank/spam call or text us and we responded to it, they would be able to drain our toll somehow. 😱

What does that mean, exactly?

Yep. I have an inside joke with some of my friends where the question essentially is "Did you check the trunk?", for nearly any situation. Any time I get a spam caller or wrong number, once I realize they're not someone I actually want to talk to, I ask them if they checked the trunk. They generally get confused, and often never call again.

In my childhood me and my friends always used to prank call, we found it hilarious. Sometimes we could just guess a random number and hope someone picked up, sometimes they did and sometimes they didn't. But more often we just pranked someone we kind of new.

Although, I've never really had many spam callers too prank. It's always been the unlucky people who did nothing, gosh it was so mean looking back on it. The only time we had spam callers was when we had a house phone years and years ago, but we got rid of it.

Although it was fun as a child, it's something I've just grown out of and not interest in anymore. Though I must admit, that website is one great idea. 🙂

I haven't done this, but if you ever need an idea for someone to call, then call Airduct Cleaning Services. 😛 They've been calling me about once per week for years and they won't go away. 🙁

I know if you respond to a text from one of these companies, it could subscribe you to their service, and then they can start texting you every day at a cost of $5 per text. Not sure if that's what phio is talking about.

This is hilarious! She was actually answering all the questions he was asking! At the end, she said, "hello?" Did she not hear, "you've been pranked by PrankDial.com?" I have the phone application. It's quite funny.

Ah, OK. slightly unrelated, but maybe not really, I have an album called "Aaron's Party (Come Get It) by Aaron Carter, and in one of the Interludes before the song, "Real Good Time" Aaron and his pals make a prank phone call to a classmate's mother. It's something like this:

Lady: Hello?
Aaron: Hi, uh, y-your son, or your daughter was uh, being bad in school and uh...
Lady: And your looking for Marina?
Aaron: Yes! Marina, yes.
Lady: Is she there, would she like to speak to me?
Aaron: Uh, no uh, she just told, uh, she's just, uh, she's just been really bad and I just wanted to call you and tell you this, and maybe you should call--
Lady: Is this one of her friends? (Chuckles)
Aaron: No, this is actually her, uh, yeah, about, yeah um, I'm-I'm her teacher!
Lady: You're not very convincing...
Aaron: [protesting kind of voice] I can be!
Lady: Well, you might try again...[chuckles] yeah, most people identify themselves.
Aaron and his friends hang up the phone and they all crack up. Probably one of my favorite interludes on the whole album!

I'm sorry to hear that, Hissae, sounds so annoying. 🙁

And yeah, I think that must be it. Thanks, Hissae, and sorry for being unclear, Ashley, haha. Because I actually never tried to respond or reply to their calls or messages. I have only heard people said that but haven't really experienced or checked around whether that theory is right or wrong.

They're really annoying. 😛

Lol that's perfectly fine. Nobody's perfect after all.

Sometimes when I have an unknown caller I'll answer and whisper "The body is gone but their is a lot of blood..." then I wait a second and then hang up, of course they usually hang up before I do and that's how I know it worked.

PM me the number and I'll post the results here

I haven't done prank calling in awhile, partly because we don't get many calls from solicitors and the like.

This reminds me of what I usually do whenever I get anonymous calls. If they're trying to sell me something, I pretend to be interested. I ask questions and let the callers explain how their product works. And when I've wasted a good portion of their time, I then pretend to change my mind and hang up! :lol

-- 29 Mar 2015, 18:06 --

I got the tip from https://www.callercenter.com/blg/articl ... marketers/. There are about 14 ways to annoy unsolicited callers but no.1 really is my favorite!

In the past I've tried to sell them tupperware, flipped the tables. Most of them aren't allowed to hang up, they have to continue the call unless you're abusing them with language. I've had indepth conversations on the benefit of tupperware, and surprisingly I don't get as many calls as I used to.

I've tried the classic Henry Rollins stuff on them; gradually talking to the same employee who calls me on a monthly basis, learning their name, and pretending to take interest in their sales pitch. Once a good relationship is established, you move in and do the "creepy thing". No longer called.
