'Manga' is basically Japanese comic books. Japanese manga is printed and read in reverse from our 'normal' books. So it is read from back to front, from right to left. It can be serialized in magazines (there are weekly, biweekly, or monthly magazines which contain only a chapter of various titles) or in tankoubon (roughly means 'volume', meaning its own book, not serialized in magazines, like other comics we know). On the other side, 'manhwa' is Korean equivalent of such comic books. The physical appearance is more similar to our 'normal' books, as in read from front to back, from left to right. The text are also usually in horizontal lines, not in vertical lines like manga. What Korean manhwa is also famous for is that many of their comics are hosted/printed online legally and are usually in one-page long format. This is often referred to as 'webtoons'. So, after installing a manga reader on my mobile phone a while back, I managed to insert some titles which I had read before but somehow didn't catch up for a long time or just haven't finished yet. That got me back to the groove of reading manga. Currently on high anticipation for Tower of God (manhwa) and Assassination Classroom (manga). Yeah, I don't follow the big titles like One Piece, Bleach, Naruto, Fairy Tail, and so on. XD
What's your story?
