Why/ why not? I did at the beginning to keep conversations going but it made me feel good when conversations were flowing without my input. I don’t like to reply to every single post as I feel that’s overkill.
What do you think?

I don’t want to feel like I’m smothering everyone but I do reply to a lot of things and try to stay as active as possible.

There’s a balance, reply if you have something to say. Keep them engaged and have fun with them. But if you’re replying just because you feel obligated to, then maybe just give their post a ‘Like’ instead.

100% !!
As the site owner it’s a responsibility to be active and be there but I try to give people room to do their own stuff on the site too.

Xenforo is amazing with the reaction functionality though it’s a life saver at times..

I do not reply to every single content on my forum, it will look so bad to see one person who is a staff member posting and spamming on his own site 😛 And I have so many unread topics/posts that I have not read on my board. ALways active on FP and doing it all here....

I used to, but then came to realize that instead of making me look active, I just ended up with the majority of the posts at one point which just looked really bad lol.

That's what happened to me! I now post to some of the most important threads or the ones I have a true interest in. I have also learned that a lot of debates I should refrain from since having an Admin post can be a thread killer.

I try to reply to all of them especially when the conversation seems to be dying. If I can add something to it and keep it going, it remains a popular topic that effectively can help with SEO.

Yee it really can. Seeing that the owner had the last post on every thread just doesn't look great.

I tend to agree. It's always about maintaining a healthy balance. I'll always ensure that a new member has a reply but aside from that I generally wont post unless I feel I have something of worth to add to the conversation.

I aim to post in as many as i can, but with other work i have to do i have to spread my time wisely, but yes i try to post in as many of the topics and areas of my community as i can 🙂

I don't even post on my forum unless I have something to say. I am just an administrator who is invisible but present all the time. However, encourage members to post on every topics

I try to reply to everything that is relevant to me or am knowledgeable in. I do try to avoid topics like religion and politics.

I will only reply to posts on my forum that I feel I can reply to and that I have an interest in or if I feel I can make a valid post to. I don't reply to posts just for the sake of replying if I don't have anything valid to add to the discussion.

I don't reply to everything. But I do make an effort to post around all the forums. The movie and TV sections on my forum will be where I will be most active whereas the gaming section I wouldn't be as active on.

I say you should start to let more members to post more as it can look bad if staff members are posting more then members Xd
