Do you solicit ads for your forum or blog by contacting sites directly? How do you go about getting ads?

My first preference is to get approved from adsense, my second preferance is to use other network ads like infolinks, media.net etc. My third preference is to sell ad space.

I went straight to Adsense for approval as they are the number one biggest company and also at the time they paid out more. However, I still waiting for the first payout that I will never get 🙁 It's based in Australia and you need an Australian bank account.

If I change I would have to start again and then still get nothing.

I've not tried this. I've wondered if anyone has had any success doing this and how did they go about doing this.....

Why do you need an Australian bank for Adsense?

No, I haven't contacted anyone directly in regard to offering advertising space on my forums. At the moment, I have Adsense enabled on one forum and I am working on getting Adsense enabled on another, after that, I will look into other places that offer ads, and then when the time comes I will be offering ad space for sale so that it is the personal choice to purchase if they wish to.

When I created Adsense it was back in Australia and they only work based on where you are based, so for the money to be approved you had to have an Australian bank account they do not approve overseas banks. Same with PAyal and can't even do it via PAypal

That is pretty rough and I doubt Google will put any effort into fixing the problem for you. Hopefully, you find a work around!

I have not gotten to the withdrawal alliance yet anyway. And so the only way to get the money is to get a bank account or use another. But then I work it out when I go over there on Holiday in the next couple of years LOL

I do offer advertising on my review blog but I don't actively seek it out. Typically, I offer it to those looking to get some extra exposure for their comic book when they reach out to me.

I don't use AdSense or anything else, I just have the interested party send me an image and a link and then have them send me whatever they are willing to pay to my PayPal.

Are you sure you're referring to Google Adsense? They're Google owned so they operate in every country... Reliable payouts too when you meet the threshold.

I've typically mostly used Mediavine or AdSense ads for programmatic advertising, and then tried to sell adspace/banners to either members of through display networks like Buy-Sell Ads.

Google, Yeah, I made the account back in Australia back then and since then I have not changed, It states that you need to have a bank account based in that country for google to pay it out. $100 is the payout and in seven years I still have not reached that freehold. I blame the big google crash we had many years ago. I hand ear to $80 AUD then BANG it crashed and google taken so much away and then I end up down to $45

I see. Have you tried setting up a new account in your local currency, then you can use a bank account in your home country 🙂

It's easy to go back there and use an account in that country there and then... But the end of the day is $100 even worth doing it..?

I don't solicit for ads on my blog. I would rather focus on building a community of people who are interested in the same things, and i think that's more important than selling ads to people who might be less engaged with us.
