Do you still use win XP?

I use XP on my desk PC and it is working fine for me. I generally only upgrade Windows when I buy a new machine. My laptop runs on Windows 7.

My computer runs on XP SP3 and it's all good. Dont really see the point in upgrading to Win7 unless im buying new hardware.

A old desktop I own use Windows XP. The desktop is too slow to run Windows 7-8 because it just has 512MB OF RAM.

Desktop... 512mb ram.....

You know how easy it is to upgrade ram? and its not very expensive. 🙂

It can be expensive depending on what you're getting. Also what is your idea of expensive?

Well you can get like 16Gb of ram for about £80 last time i checked. it would make your pc way faster. 🙂

What do you use your computer for?

Normally anything over 4gb you won't notice a difference. 🙂

It is hard to find DDR1 SDRAM since very few stores sell such old RAM, and I don't trust used RAM from second hand sellers.

The CPU is an old Intel Pentium 4 single core 1.6GHz CPU from the early 2000s, so I think adding more RAM might not make much of a difference in terms of speed even if I upgrade RAM.

I have nothing on XP, The oldest OS that any of my machines is running is Vista on my laptop.

It's only noticeable if you're running like a CAD program or a DAW program for music with VST's and shiz.

I'm using macbook :cheer:
Very sorry to hear that. 😉

What's so bad about that?.
I just find that people pay crazy amounts £1,500+ usually for a Mac, when a home built PC will cost only £600-700 and will have equally as good (if not better) stats.

The only difference being that it won't come in a shiny white / silver case. 🙂

Some people might need a Mac because of the multimedia software like Final Cut Pro, Garage Band, Pro Tools, etc which are not available on Windows, and it is someone's choice to use a Mac.

If you needed that software you could buy a high spec pc and install the apple os for less.
