Do you think having a child is a lifestyle choice? or do you think it is a personal choice?
Please only constructive replies I would like to hear the thoughts of the community. Also
don't just bring in an argument without any reason to back it up. We are here to just
bring in our views and not personally attack other people. Thank you!

Definitely! I can't stand when people comment on a couple's decision regarding children. It's their relationship, and their family. It's not like the human race is going to die off if some couples don't have children. 😛

Yes, completely! It drives me crazy when people expect a woman to have children because she's a woman. However, if a male doesn't want children, it's okay.

Children are always a personal choice.

How could it not be a personal choice to have children in 99% of cases? I understand society, depending on where you live, and who you affiliate with, can help make a deciding factor in having children, but I always have believed that having children was always a personal choice, not a lifestyle choice.

I'm echoing what TF and Josh said. How can having a child be anything but a personal choice? That doesn't mean everyone who chooses to have a child is smart and should have a child, it just means they chose to.

I'm also having trouble understanding the point to this question. What brought it on? What is the scenario you're thinking of where it may not be a personal choice?

A personal choice, definitely, you have children for only one reason, because you want them and love them, not because it suits your lifestyle or any other cosmetic reasoning, anything less than a personal choice is a shadow on the real reason for having children, and is not a wise move.

Someone who is pressured into having children, must stand their ground until the time is right. Having children is the most important decision that any couple will ever make.

Children are little people not ornaments to be put on display. They need to be loved, taught and encouraged so as they will be able to develop into descent citizens, and the parents will be rewarded with the same in return from that child if they are born from choice through love.

Yes a personal choice, but over here IMO it isn't. Some people have kids for the sake of it and really should put something on the end of it, if you don't want kids for the sake of it. Some people love kids though. Some have loads so they don't have to work and get loads of benefits. I don't believe most people over here want kids. Especially parents in the early 20s. I believe children are used as weapons so parents look good.
