Activision games never last. No one plays Guitar Hero World Tour/Guitar Hero 5 when people are still actively playing Rock Band 2.

No one played Tony Hawk 6 when 7 came out. It's Activision's drive to yearly release a game in their franchises and milk each and every one of them.

That is not correct at all, As I can tell you most of the Call Of Duty players actually hate Halo and vice-versa so that statement is highly incorrect. And I'v talked with many Halo people as well and it seems Halo Reach isn't what they thought it was going to be. And most of my friends are back on Halo 3.

It won't just die over night. If over twenty thousand people still play World at War, with its bare bones simplicity in comparison to Modern Warfare 2's endless plethora of challenges, and myriads of titles, ranks, callsigns, rewards, killstreaks, deathstreaks, map packs, and more varied gameplay modes, then people will still play it. Just not as much.

Black Ops from what I've watched in videos has made a lot of improvements so that players can't "cheat" as much. Like killstreaks don't count towards another killstreak, drop shot is harder. So I think those improvements will keep people playing MW2.

If I do, it's when it'll be <$20 on a b2g1f sale or something similar, same as im planning with mw2.

My copy of Modern Warfare is still unpackaged anyway so no need for another COD game.

People who hate Black Ops will stick to MW2, guarentee it will be a ton of people. MW2 is a lot different gameplay wise (how it feels). If you liked WOW youll love Black Ops, if not, youll hate it and play mw2
