Yes, I think targetted traffic from people finding a forum will get more cash then random traffic from Facebook walls and random link posts on General chat forums and blogs. People who are interested in your forum's topic will probably be more interested on your adsense targetted to your website and purchasing from your affiliate links which are related to your website's category.
But, then again if you post your links in enough forums, blogs, website directories, general sites, guest books, social networking/bookmarking sites, chatrooms, and free web hosting websites like Blogger then it can earn you more cash from adsense clicks from random visitors since ranking in the top 10 for a specific keyword or phrase like "make money online" can be extremely difficult sometimes, but getting traffic from non-related sites and searches can be easier.
I have this prediction that a small % of visitors tend to click your ads when they are not interested in your website since the adsense banner looks cooler or sounds better if the description is well written vs. your website article.
