I have noticed that there are lots of webmaster who have blog on their community forum. I think that blog is not so important for a blog. It may decrease the activity of the main forum. may be my thought is wrong !! However, let me know your opinion. What do you think ? Should you have a blog on your community forum ? if yes/no than why you think so ?? I hope you guys will share your opinion.
I agree that a blog can be beneficial depending on your particular niche and can pull in new traffic. It is a good amount of work however so that should be considered before adding one. Then you have to coordinate who is going to write articles, what they'll be written on, if images are included making sure they are copyright free, moderating comments, etc.
Yes, It's good for you to have a blog on your forum. You can post some topics on it and discuss about it with everyone. Besides, they can contact with you through it.
Blogs are helpful for all websites, whether its a forum or a personal website. Blogs help to share content which increased the crawl frequency of your website. This helps to build more traffic and rank your website higher in search engines.
Our site was around long before we had a forum (forum was established in 2004). I do see two very different kind of site users -- many blog readers never make it to the forums and many forum members never participate or read the blog. We've had both so long I wouldn't do without either. They both bring outstanding value to the site.
Most Forum software have that built in now, and if not then plugins are being made all the time. And yeah I have an blog on my website for gaming and reviews on the latest news.
Yet it depends on the site that you are running really! right?
