Some charities have been known to be scams. However, though, is it "Just the thought that counts?". How do you decide things on charities?

There are so many charities around that most of the time I don't even know if the money really goes! You see so much advertisement and to my mind that those ads that they do tends to cost and so where are they getting the money to do adverts!

I also find that many people always donate to animals, mostly cats and dogs more then children that needs an home to live in. SO much money is going around but most of that money is just being wasted.

One argument is they need to send Rambo to get rid of the bad guys - causing the poverty. Why not fix the source?

Animal cruelty burns me up, though. There simply isn't any predators for these animals - not even cars (not being mocking or disrespectful). In that case, animals can often die cruel deaths of hunger.

I would rather give to local charities where I know there is no CEO making over a hundred grand or paying too much for advertising. My church does collections for some charities and all the money will actually go to that charity too so I'm secure in knowing how my money is being allocated.

I don't really Donate Money to Charities. Instead, what I usually do is Donate any old Clothes to my Church which is just across the street from me.

While I do feel bad for Children in Need, I find the Advertisements on TV as sketchy and off.

Main error that there are so many darn cats are being born they have to slow down on make them having an winging born

I generally trust smaller charities, but am wary of those with a marketing presence. There are sites that rank them based on qualities such as CEO payout, how much of your donation actually goes toward the cause, how much is spent on marketing, etc. These sites usually have user-submitted reviews, as well, so you can see an individual's experience with that charity.

Organizations such as PETA, The Susan G. Komen Foundation, the Salvation Army, and more are on my shit-list for life. But I regularly donate to my local humane society, Tusk Trust, local Special Olympics fundraisers, and food banks. I think local organizations are more likely to be trustworthy.

90% of the charities are left wing shell companies. So I don't trust them at all.

DOes anyone here has donated? and if so to who and what did the resuilts ended up with

You are very right, there are many scammers that own a charity organisation in order to rip people of their money. They feed fat on the donations given to them by companies and individuals without fulfilling their own part of the deal.

I won't donate to any religious charities or any place that gets a tax write off.

I prefer donating locally for one thing, anonymously. Then you don't get bombarded with emails & postal mail asking for more donations. You can also see for yourself how well the facility is doing. For us, we donate mostly to animal shelters.
