Whether it's Christmas, Thanksgiving, Halloween, etc., do you update the look of your site in some aspect for the holidays?

For Halloween, I added a Halloween-related background option for members, also added a floating ghost to TCS's logo

I went to your site & love your cute little floating ghost. Did you create it yourself?
I have my logo with a Christmas feel that @meetdilip kindly did for me 🙂 I also have a plug-in for Snowfall. People can turn it on & off if they so desire.

I always do special variations for the holiday seasons that are prepared many many months in advance with special theme variations. Although at The Ivory Tower it's mainly going for a more seasonal theme (Fall) rather than Halloween, although there will be a slight varistion nearer the date.

I wish, it's actually a built in feature of the theme I'm using, there's also snow fall and confetti that can be toggled on/off in the admin panel

According to me its rule of life and world that things should change time to time. In marketing i notice always that every website (If webmaster care about his website and want to make some reputation online) change something after some duration like in 6 months.

I think if you want to get attentions of visitors then changing on website is must after some duration, reasons can be many like festival, achievement etc.. Hope you are agree with my points .... If not then share your thought.

Only for X-mas with the theme change and that's all I do. I do not do anything that great and whatnot since I do not have allot of people/members

On my Harvest Moon site I did sort of. Mostly updated for the season though.

I have a Halloween variant of my boards main theme that I turn on for the later half of October, although members can use their board currency to buy access to the theme permanently if they wish to use it at any time of the year.
I don't currently have a Christmas theme to use but if I did I would enable that too at the appropriate time.

No. But I should.

Holidays are where I try to be a little PC. I mean I am happy to show that I love Christmas and stuff like that but I don't want to force it on others who don't celebrate it.

But it could raise the spirit of members and potentially increase activity.

I like how it is done here.

I think it depends on the niche.

I do not even have any related Halloween theme going at all or even the theme that I have now doesn't, other than falling snow.

That would drive me crazy! Haha, but awesome idea

It seems like the fun thing to do. However, some people go a little bit overboard with it. I like to see a little bit of festivity, but too much can be a bit of a nuisance.

You're telling me my snowfall animations, Santa Clause logo, Christmas lights all around the forum, and flying reindeer across the screen is too much? 🙁

/sarcasm

Just enough, really. 😉

I say not just themes based but events for members to get involved and win makes it up big time
