Do you use a security camera?

We thought of getting one, not for security lol but because we have elderly pets & when we are away those 2 days at my parents, thought of having one to be sure they are all ok. Problem is, can't find one that you don't need a cell phone to hook up with. If you have one, what do you use it for? Are they expensive?

I have a complete security system; Cameras are in the back and front of my home and the sides, and we also have a doorbell cam and a cam in the house.
I can control everything from my phone, and I can check in on my dog if needed during the day. 🙂

Hum, what is Chris hiding in there? LMAO
Must be where the vault is!

I have a security setup, it's all internally-networked, so not something that feeds to a third party company like Ring or any of that, but it's nice to have and does what we need it to do.

I have one camera looking at my face, my sexy famous face 😛 Twitch-only people. But at the end of the day NOPE. why spend money on cameras that is a safe area anyway. I do not see the point, not like I want the camera pointed at another house and spy 😛

We've been looking into getting some for the property. We live in the country and we'd probably just get all kinds of animals activating it.

Our neighbor's camera is aimed at our driveway, so that's cool 😀 I can see who comes and goes if I ask her.

not always, privacy is a law that you can't point it at other properties

I would like to invest in getting some kind of camera for security if I am honest. Last year we had at least two incidents, one that involved my front door window being broken at one point, and no matter who I asked they couldn't give me a full rundown on who did it and what happened, a few weeks before that we also have a break in at a house a few doors down from me as well. Having a security camera would definitely help not only me but also my neighbors when there are issues in the area.

I've yet to decide if I need security cameras here as we are fairly remote and I've got to know all my neighbors in the short time we've lived here. I am however having a steel door constructed that leads to my recording studio.

Not exactly. There is no law that prevents you from pointing cameras at another home, at least here in South Carolina. What can be seen from public property or your own property, can be recorded or photographed without the other person's approval.

We've gotten a few to put outside of our house when we had a neighbor whose kids were always trespassing through the front yard. We got it just in cased they broke in or vandalized the house while we were gone. They were finally evicted and well, the camera's died and we haven't changed out the batteries yet. Probably should.

The UK is different in terms of that, not everyone likes cameras pointing at their homes. I mean camera pointing at there homes and they can see you watching the TV or taken a shower or in bed sleeping XD

We don't have any type of security cameras for our household. I don't know if it's true, but I vaguely remember the HOA saying they installed cameras around the neighborhood after some crime.

I do not have a security camera in my home, but there is a security camera on the street that directly points at my gate. 😀

I don't have any installed at my home yet but it's something that I'm looking to doing when I build my own house and not in a rented apartment.

I use security cameras at home. Now I'm thinking about installing cameras in the office, but I want something to monitor PC screens too. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Are you wanting to see if anyone accesses your screen?

We've thought about getting a ring doorbell, but that's about as far as I'd go.
