Yes, http://ping.fm/ allows me to easily post my forums link to Facebook, Twitter, Google Buzz, Myspace, Bebo, Wordpress.com and a bunch of other social networks, blog software, and sites at once by connecting all my social network accounts which are compatible with Ping.fm at once. It is faster then logging into each social network individually to post a link and short description.

You can use hellotxt to do this too and it looks better 😛
I don't use it to promote, I have every new thread on my forum go through twitfeed and posted onto 3 twitter accounts, 2 facebook pages and linkedin using bit.ly to measure statistics 🙂
