I have no salt at home, I can't completely avoid it because it's everywhere in the products we buy, but I still reduce it considerably by choosing products with a low salt content. It's good for your health and after a while you rediscover the true taste of things!
This is a rather topical subject in our household.
I've never added salt to anything in my life and avoid any sort of ready meal due to the high salt and sugar content. During lock-down my weight increased substantially and I found I'd reached an age where losing it proved to be hard to say the least.
Radical problems lead to radical solutions so I decided to go vegan Long story short, I'm losing weight, never feel hungry (actually enjoying most meals but don't tell anybody) but my salt intake has become quite substantial. I'll probably die of a heart attack or stroke but at least I'll be a reasonable weight 😎
I use salt in just about everything, just in moderation.
I also rarely use table salt, which generally has about 2.3 times the amount of sodium as sea salt or kosher salt. I also have a lot of different flavored salts to finish with, which generally allow for adding more depth of flavor without adding a ton of salt.
