The other day me and my friends were going to the 18th floor of a building and I challenged one of my friend to have a race to the 18th floor using the stairs. Well, I lost in the end but it was a pretty good experience. I felt exhausted afterwards but that is kind of expected. Normally if I am not in a rush, I take the stairs instead of the lifts. Sometimes even when going up 6-8 floors, I still take the stairs because it is good exercise. So do you take the stairs? Have you ever raced someone up 18th floors?
Every now and then, especially when the elevator looks like it could teleport you to the gates of hell. 😛
Though, I must say I've never raced someone to the 18th floor, I'd hit my head tripping on the stairs with my luck if I ever decided to race someone. 😛
In most cases where I'm in a building with stairs - I'm with my grandmother or father so we usually end up taking the elevator. I don't think I actively seek out stairs either
Where I live everything seems to be ground level buildings. Maybe 2 or 3 stories is the most you'd see. I remember passing on a cheap apartment when I was looking for a place to live because it was on the second story and I didn't want to imagine myself going up and down a set of stairs several times a day. 😛
If there's an elevator available - I'd take full advantage of it, especially if I have to get to a high floor. The exercise is nice and all, but I'd get tired pretty easily.
My condo is on the 5th floor and I climb the stairs daily for once to reduce my fat. Its a good way of exercising myself when I spend all day on my desktop.
