Do you use your domain name for an email address?

My husband isn’t in the web space like me and we are starting a business so he created a gmail account for the business which makes sense for starting a business especially since we will be testing out running our own server from home in the future and don’t want/need to have an outage with emails.

BUT I will be starting a business or two in the future. One business is my coding.help[ ] community and another will probably just be my name for freelancing and stuff. Both LLCs.

I’m not sure if I should have professional emails or if I should just use outlook or gmail since I already have emails for those as I have like 4 different emails already 😂 2 gmail, iCloud, and Outlook.

I did in the past, when I had public-facing sites that actually gained decent traffic, but of late I just keep it simple and have a gmail account; however, I do use occasional forwarders that forward to that gmail account, such as [email protected], because sometimes it's nice to have it 😀.

I would go with professional style emails 🙂 SInce you have your domain and your mail account setup I would have setup.

Just whatever you want, you can create as many as you want and setup it up upright. It's far better than having [email protected] 😛 I use https://sendgrid.com/ as my emailing services 😉 it releases stress from your server and also emails don't go into junk mail if you set your own pop3.

I was once using my custom email address using my personal domain, however, I hd to shut it down becuse of spam messges.

I use Gmail for everything. Even for my real life business. All my forums get them too.

I should add you can set your Gmail up to handle everything with a few clicks. Just a matter of how you want to handle it.

Yes! Works out fine for me.

I do have a professional email attached to my Sonic blog, I've used a professional email in the past for other projects though I could never figure out how to get the email set up properly. This time around it works fine though!

I use a different email address via my ISP's domain for every site I join. That way I can tell who has been hacked or is selling on my PII.

For work or anything more professionally orientated I use my domain.

I’d say using your own domain is a must in terms of professionalism. I’m always iffy on businesses that are sporting a free email address, like Gmail. I especially notice this with all of the “businesses” that are popping up on Facebook. You have to question the legitimacy when you see that.

I agree. I hate businesses that use Gmail or Outlook for their business email.

It's actually super easy to set up custom email nowadays so there's no excuse.

My servers offers it as a perk, but I have found too many instances where emails never arrived / arrived days late, etc., and that deterred me.

I do use my domain name as an email, yes. I find it a little more professional to use an email with my domain name, especially for things such as business and work.

I have two emails set up under my domain name that I use.

One email is for personal use, and the other is for all activation and support emails.

I don't have an email set up for my domain name, so no. Sometimes I do send emails from no-reply@mydomain though.

I use to but now i just use outlook or gmail since those are already linked to other services i use from them anyway
