Do you winterize your site?

Is it appropriate nowadays to customise a site for the holidays? Is pushing a Christmas theme, for example, not politically correct? Thoughts?

I suppose it matters on the site and the members. At Christianity Haven we might put up something that is festive but we don't go overboard. If you have more of a professional type site you don't want to make it too kid looking bringing it down to unprofessionalism. Keeping things simple is a good start.

Yeah. Good advice. I put a Santa on the splash page and a snowy background on the default theme to get into that Xmas spirit 😀

I try to find a Christmas-y theme for the forum to use. If not, I'll add a little falling snow to the forum.

I’d say customizing the logo is fine and that’s something I have done plenty of times in the past, but I’m not going to make some major changes to my forum over the holiday season. I guess I’ve gone down that road in the past though. I feel like most of us had snowflakes falling down our screens like 5-10 years ago.

I just do falling snow, but if members don't like it there's an option to turn it off.

I've never done anything like that for my sites, and frankly, I don't understand why some people add those annoying snow effects and whatnot to their pages.

It is nice to do so, but I don't think it worth the effort of changing the theme of the website.

When I had my other site I did I will probably try to do something this year. I feel its something i would do always.
