All animals get alone well then human beings, It's an known fact

My dog is 15 years old and he doesn't enjoy being in the company of other dogs very much. He doesn't like cats or anything that he can chase. He's a grumpy old man.

I got 2 cats and they get along. Mostly keep to themselves, but sometimes they will play fight for a few minutes and chase each other around the house.
