Does a dark theme fit a music lesson site?

It seems to fit this one:

However, dark seems to be more for music downloads or band websites. Anyway, there seems to be a lot of cynicism regarding dark - unless for gaming sites.

The sample site you linked to isn't quite as dark as complete black so it's not as harsh on my eyes. In other words, it looks really good and makes the videos stand out.

I prefer a light theme with musical notes as post icons. Dark theme does less justice to drum lesson forum.

Music lessons site should be clean and white. Dark themes are not suitable for informative niches.

For a forum start off with a light default and give the option for a dark theme. That's probably the best way to go.

Night mode can be made. I think you can use it for the forum. But for the lesson pages or video pages avoid the dark themes. Educational sites should not be in dark IMO.
