Same guy actually turned up on Sakuga City with accounts with my name in them. "1Shannon4black*" and a few others. I'll leave you to imagine what goes where the * is. Unfortunately, unscrupulous people tend to do things like this when the admin happens to be female. It's like an extra level that they can stoop down to. >.>

I didn't even do anything to the guy. Just prevented him from literally taking over the anime forum. The new owners of that forum were idiots, (they paid $4k for it, then destroyed it) but no way I'd help someone do something that nasty and illegal. Of course we threw a few IP bans in that general direction when he showed up on SC. Guy was a total fruitcake. lol.

That is an unfortunate truth when it comes to a lot of forums and female admins or staff; creeps will always stoop to new depths in thinking they're 'funny'.

I blocked him so he got mad and had like 50 of his jerk friends spam my forum to the point I had to shut it down. Then he revealed to me how he'd been cyber stalking me for months, Googling me and making fake accounts on every site I was on so he could make fun of me. What a loser.

I hope that he doesn't do it still. Spam is something that I take an no no for and if there are to much spam then that member goes

Nah, he quit a long time ago and I totally called him out on it on one of my blogs! All my friends read it and trashed him. lol

Oh shit lol. This actually happened to me on anime-forumsdotcom a couple of years ago. The complete assholes who bought the place let everyone who is anyone into the server provided that they did the work for free. There were exploits installed, I have no doubt about that. The forum was redirected many times. A member that I knew was a bit of a power hungry sod got admin, removed my account from superadmin and deleted it, then deleted his own XD. The account was 10 years old, so I was like OMG! Thousands of posts lmao. He also took over a couple of other accounts, but I changed the passwords and emailed the owners.

I did manage to run a mySQL query to restore my posts onto a new account though, so it basically looked like my account was recovered. Since the forum had over 3million posts, that took a whole day to run and update. It really isn't a wonder why we let the forum rot in the end and set up Sakuga City. All of the members were sick of those people and most of them left. That's why our forum is very small now. It's not that people didn't follow us, it's because they already had enough and quit before we ran the campaign to set up a new site. We tried to help the new owners for over a year. Staff dropped off one by one and admins were finally like... "enough's enough!"

One really has to be careful who they give full admin access to for sure.

Wow. Crazyness. On my forum it was partially my fault. My site was adult "alt" based. And my "friend", which I invited to it, seemed like he just couldn't handle it, and went nuts. He posted my link on this lame forum full of haters and was like "my friend runs a stupid adult alt site, let's go bash him" which resulted in like 60-70 new spam accounts and hundreds of posts. I was still fairly new to being a forum Admin back then and was also getting heat from other haters, and even freaking death threats! I'm much more careful now....

I've banned a LOT of IPs over the years! $4k? If someone would buy my forum for that much I'd sell it in a heartbeat and start over again! hehe

Well considering 100k+ membership and 3.2million posts, I suppose they thought they were getting a real cash cow or something.

I prefer smaller/medium sized forums where you can feel like you're part of a community and not just an after-thought because you're simply 'just another member out of many'. 🙂
