Does Anyone Believe In An Afterlife?

So does anybody believe in an Afterlife after you die? Do you believe that you go to Heaven or Hell upon Death or even Re-Incarnate?

For me personally, as a Christian, I do believe in an Afterlife. But it's only now that I've started to stop believing in such a thing and I'm starting to believe that once you die, that's it. There is nothing else to Death. I also do not believe in Re-Incarnation and I do not believe it's a possible thing to happen to somebody upon Death.

What about you?

I am a Christian and I believe that when I die that I will live on. It's actually a soothing thought to not have hunger, pain, etc....

I'm spiritual and non-religious. Personally, I do believe our spirits live on after we die, and also that we reincarnate over time, but I believe we start out by wandering this world as spirits before our souls find themselves with new lives.

I believe in the reality of the spirit world - angels, demons, but I have a tougher time believing in an afterlife - but the former - proves the latter.

I don't. It's a nice thought and I hope I'm wrong, but I very firmly believe that there is nothing after death. There was nothing before I was born, so why should there be anything at the end?

I would really like to see my family, friends, and pets again, though.

Honestly? I think there is an afterlife, but I believe it would be similar to what we experience here, but without a physical body and the ability to eat and drink. Basically I think that whatever we believe and know here, we will still have that with us after we leave our bodies.

When I go to church - I feel a calm. I can't explain where it's coming from. I assume it's the spirit world.

So, logically, one leads to another (spirit world, next afterlife etc..) Anyway, if someone can explain the calm as something biochemical - please do so, but no drugs taken (by me at any time)!

The modern life with the net and all - must seem like the afterlife to people who are from the 1800s or - maybe even the 50s or 70s.

I suppose that life will seem normal to those people - and they couldn't imagine how people could live now.

Well, who knows. Maybe you could live past the Average Life-Expectancy. You never know for sure.

Of course, in 50 Years time, Technology and Science will have drastically changed. Computers will be faster, we'll most likely have a cure for Cancer, there is also sorts of things that will have drastically changed in 50 Years. We just don't know because it's hard to predict the Future.

Then again those people in 50 years will not know what life was like 100 years or even more ago back from this year of 2019. Wounder if people still remember WW2 in 50 years time. then again no idea what it be like. never know more wars can happen.

Well, if we want those people to know what Life was like 50 - 100+ Years ago, then we'll have to rely on our incredibly terrible Education-Systems to teach the Children of Tomorrow what Life was like right now. And if we want to keep the Tradition of teaching people about old Wars then we'll keep on doing that. I'm sure that Children will still continue learning about Wars, including World War II.

I have to agree on that one. We'll most likely have Quantum-Computing and A.I in 50+ Years time. Although, I could be wrong and we could still be a century away from achieving those things.
