Does anyone on here use [hide] bbcode plugin? If you don['t know what it is. it allows you to hide content of posts. you can hide the content of a thread to anyone not logged in or from a certain posting group or even you can hide it until someone replies to the thread and/or thanks the thread.

Yes I currently have it implemented on some of my boards where you can hide text to a moderator or administrator.

I've used it before. I don't know if it necessarily helps to get more members, or if it just irritates guests. It is pretty helpful though if you're trying to do things like member-only giveaways and such.

I can see where this would be useful. You could "hide" a post until a user has thanked or liked it or replied to it. Guests would be forced to signup. The content would have to be pretty good though to encourage signups.

I want this and tried spoiler as I found on others webmaster forums but it did not work in MyBB.
Do I need some plugin to do this...?

As I know spoiler works in xenforo.

I think this is not a good idea to hide content to visitors using a hide bbcode plugin, unless they are for premium or private forums. It is hard for everyone if a forum hide their content and force logging before viewing it.

No, I not going to hide all the contents. Want to use "spoiler" code on MyBB board only on few forums where I would post puzzles and solution will be hidden until some click it to know the solution.

The thread would be open for all only answer hidden. Supposer "show more" / "show the answer" text appear.

I use this addon on my forum, or a similar one to hide passwords from guests viewing my forum.
