So as the Title says, does anyone remember this Site? As a Person of course growing up on the more recent Internet, I've only stumbled upon this Site until recently.

After watching Videos about it, it was a place that was Home to new Memes and Jokes. It originally started as a Joke Website back in 2001 when it was just ASCII Text. Then it got updated to include Tiling-Pictures of Sean Connery as the Background with Big, Zooming, Text alongside an Audio File saying 'You're The Man Now Dog!'.

It was then turned into an 'Art' Website in 2004 and became what it is today. Sadly, it was abandoned on April 1st 2014 and hasn't been developed or changed since. It still remains up but you cannot Sign-Up due to the outdated V1 ReCaptcha, no one uses it anymore and as of today, an Error is displayed on it's homepage.

So does anyone here remember the site?

I've never even heard of it. An Angel Fire for memes sounds just like an Angel Fire, period. lol

I noticed your post profile and I was so tempted to dig an "Excuuuuse me princess" link in response, haha.

Back when there were dial-up and videos took a lot of time to load, that was the closest we had to give some witty responses in forums that weren't static images. Basically, a site where you could put an image, either centered or tiled, add some text and loop a short audio. Like most things memetic some things were dumb fun and others kind of offensive.

I remember this one a was a common link to give when someone said to an admin they couldn't see the website. They'd say something like, "Oh, sorry about that it's all explained here."

Well, it certainly was the norm back in the early 2000's for Sites like ytmnd to pop-up. I don't know why but ever since I discovered it(Which was recently), I now have the urge to make one of these Websites for some reason.

It's sad that such a great piece of Internet Culture has been abandoned for more than 4 Years now.

It's been really abandoned four years ago, but it was really just the people that really liked it that even allowed stay on for that long. The place stopped being mentioned once speed allowed for flash video sites like Albino black sheep and Newgrounds loaded fast enough. I don't think it's been popular for, at the very least, over a decade. I think by 2006 it was already on its way out.

That said I agree it is sad there is not that much echo about it, not many people even when checking for the internet stuff, knows much about it. I only know YTMND because I am old enough to have been around and I remember it so having someone that knows what YTMND stands will definitely get my attention.

Even if you can't make a full website, you could probably have fun creating webpages like that under a domain to serve as reactions and memes to spark some more interest. Maybe there's even a spin you could give them now that technology has progressed so much.

Man, this talk makes me want to watch some albino black sheep flashes, hahaha. I remember those Backstreetboy parodies back in the day and the 'All your Base Are Belong to us' craze. x).

Again, it's ashame it's Owner, Max Goldberg abandoned the Site. Nobody even knows if he's still alive or what he's doing now. I did check his ytmnd Profile and the last time he was active was last year so he still is alive(Or someone accessed his Account). And it did start declining around 2006 or 2007 then by 2014, became a Ghost Town and thus' only the Fans stuck around.

I only discovered ytmnd a few days ago when watching a Video about it on Youtube. I found it's History to be quite interesting and checked the Site out for myself. I do not regret it. I checked it again today and everything seems to be running smoothly again.

Now how you said that even if someone cannot create a fully-functional Website but could make a Website like ytmnd just for fun is true. It's what I'm thinking of doing right now. But of course, I won't do ytmnd's approach which is grab a Picture, grab some Audio, write some HTML and CSS code and call it a day.

They have a thing in the south USA called "big dog" - like "There you go, big dog!".

If you can't run with the big dogs - stay on the porch. :arghh:

Lol. What.

It does kind of sound similar to “You’re the Man now Dog”, though. Imagine if there was a Site for that too...

Never heard of this site. I used to use Tickld for memes etc. And I have quite dark humour and there is a pretty good site out there for dark humour. But it’s pretty bad so won’t post it.
