Do you find that each generation seems to think it's more enlightened than any other?

I don't know about being enlightened but some (not all) of the younger generation seem to believe they have ancient knowledge and that the older generations like you and me knows nothing. I can't say that I'm a fan of that mind set.

Definitely more entitled, if nothing else. There's an air of smugness about the younger generations these days, and I'm sure it was true of each of us in those days, but they just seem overly self-assured, shall we say? Am I more enlightened than my parents' generation? Maybe, because of my generation's access to information that they didn't have, but does that make me in any way superior to them? No. Not at all

It worries me how unprepared younger generations are when it comes to everyday life. COVID, Influencers, social media, reality TV, early attempts at AI have all contributed to a dumbing down of society.

I don't think each generation seems to think it's more enlightened, I think it believes it's more entitled. Or maybe I'm just getting old 🙂

But it is true though that the Gen Z are far more smarter. And I have already acknowledged that the next generation would be smarter than mine. Smartness is increasing with every generation.

When it was the 80s and I was a kid, I thought the world was at the pinnacle of human existence. All I knew was TV and the top of that was satellite (those huge dishes) and cable TV. Anyway, now that world seems like for cave people.
