i believe in god.
I believe that God exists, and the proof is that you are here on this earth, and that the universe exists. What, besides God, could have created the universe? The universe wasn't just always there, it must have been created by God. If it always was there, then it was created by God before He created the concept of time, so that it was always there since the beginning of time. Some may argue that "time is relative," or that time is a human concept, but what created the human race? Evolution? For evolution to exist, there must have been a beginning, and something or someone must have created that beginning, or have been the seed for the beginning.

God is a spirit who cannot show himself thus making chaos. Creating the worl in 6 days is a symbol as are other things that represent god. When god created the earth there was no time so 6 days could mean 6 billion years. Thus explaining how the dinosaurs fit in with the animals since humans did not exist in that period.Probably making it the 5th day they were alive and the end they died making the 6th day in wich the humans were put on this earth by god.He made us a superior race over animals and is leading us so we can see him. I am christian and thus saying in the bible-Those who must see and believe are not true followers but those who believe without seeing are the ones that will go to heaven to see Jesus and God. I believe all these are true. And though I question wether he is real I make my dose and look at the facts of science and how they can intercect with the bible ideas. And even if yor jewish your book is the old testament and says the same. This forum proves by the lack of faith this world endures these days since there is not a threat to your kind if you do not believe. In the bible it says that the apocolypse wich is the end of days is not determined when it will happen although religious calendars end in 2012,the sun will dim,the stars will fall,fathers will betray sons and sons will kill fathers. Sleep not or you will be suffered. Jesus will come to earth with angels to take the true holy believers that have no doubt that God exists and take them to heaven to live in eternal peace without pain nor suffering of those who will go down to heck.
Religion in General-A lot of people believe that religion is just a way to show a way of how things happen and that is almost precisely what I believe. But as I am christian I do believe that Church is not a place where we learn a bunch of hoo haa to see what creates us. It is a place so we can show God we do believe,so we can learn more about why we are here and why we sohuld believe. If this is hoo haa I want as much of it crammed into my head as possible. We are people who live in a diverse world full of different religions and non-religioud people. As a christian and a respector I do not make fun of other religions or people who have non religion. My girlfriend is Jewish. Take Budhism (Pronounced Boodhism) they do not believe in a god they believe in a circle of life that goes on and on untill you reach eternal peace then you are regrown as a flower or plant to live in happiness. Or not live at all. Try to learn as much as you need about your religion. Ask your Priest,Bishop,Rabi,or other religious teacher to help you more understand this. Dont be surprised if you ask your parents and they cannot say why. It is normal. It is hard to tell why you chose that religion of all religions. I myself was born Catholic,Christian and plan on staying that. My best friend is Muslim (Islam) and I still want him as my best friend. Religion is a symbol but it is a true symbol that you should stick with and spend whatever is your holy day wether its monday,friday,sunday or a holiday learn more about your religion and why you should stick with it.

As far as God goes, I pretty much agree with those quotes of Albert Einstein that were posted. I do believe in God though. Not the Christian God though, or any other religious God. He/she/it is not some entity out there with a laptop computer up in real estate heaven scrutinizing the human race, punishing for those going against his/her/it's will and rewarding those who go for his/her/it's will. That is just absurd. God, to me, is simply the creative force that drives the universe.
As far as evolution goes, I think evolution gives brings more light out the idea of God. Evolution has not been proven though. It is still a controversial topic today in the scientific community today because it's still somewhat unknown how species are able to change. The only explanation is a creative force that drives the universe and this evolution. Darwin himself even kept the idea that his theory should not be engraved in stone.
So God isn't some parent with a rod up in the sky. God is something that is in everything and in each and everyone of us. Our consciousness at it's core so to speak. So that statement, "If God exists he would show himself," is not valid anymore as that ship has sailed. I would just like to show this one scripture in the New Testament to say what I mean:
Luke 17:20-21
{Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is within you."}
