I'm not sure since the last time I used Norton was in 2001, and it stop a Instant Messaging virus some dude try to sent to me over Yahoo Instant Messenger. Though, I think he probably use one of those popular viruses which can found at popular h4cker sites and was not coded by himself from C++ or someother language which almost ever decent antivirus knows exists.

I saw this video and Norton performs pretty good. It even tells users not to run unknown files.

I don't pay for antivirus anymore, I use Microsoft Security Essentials and it works perfectly. But last time I used Norton was like 2005, and it was a ram hog from hell.

The guy in the video use a task manager program called (process explorer) and he said it only uses 13 MB according to proc. ex. and the System feels light in Windows XP, so I'm thinking Norton is paying attention to their past problems.

Meh I don't care anymore. I am happy with avast av and comodo firewall.

I have Norton 360. It is awesome. Doesn't use up much of my CPU, even when scanning. I've never had any virus get through.

I find it kind of odd that Norton 360 is sponsoring the Australian v8 Super Car races.

But, I guest there are a lot of people who might be interested in Anti-virus software at a racing event.

Last time I used a Norton was 4 or 5 years ago and it sucked. When I was using it I downloaded some virus by accident and Norton did nothing while the virus destroyed my computer.

Norton 360 sucks for me, I uninstalled it because it was so laggy.

That's what I use as well and I just love it. Sure picks up a lot of crap as far as viruses though!

I've used Norton in the past (Circa 1990's and again in some time in the 2000's) and always found it a resource hog, until Norton Internet Security 2010 which I purchased through amazon.

It is much better than it used to be... much better.

I rather have Norton protecting my expensive system than eset smart security or another security suite.

Poor, but it is too complicated. I like straight forward antiviruses.

Re: Does Norton Antivirus still have a poor or good reputati

Noton is too intrusive, almost as bad a Mcafee, and that is way bad.

I prefer to control my software, not the other way round

Re: Does Norton Antivirus still have a poor or good reputati

Personally from my experience, I say it has a bad rep

Because:
Its slows down your PC
Its quite expensive
It shows false positives
I still get virus's

Re: Does Norton Antivirus still have a poor or good reputati

I tried the trial version of Norton last year. It was alright. But I still prefer Kaspersky because it doesn't slow down my system as my as Norton does.

I use quick heal. It is good for me.
