EDIT- Shoot, I accidenly posted this in the wrong forum. Could it be moved to Admin Discussions. Thanks 🙂

http://www.sourgruntproductions.com/

I have Admins, Mods, Staff*, Events Staff*, VIP and Premium.

Admins = Admins
Mods = Mods
* = No mod powers. Normally only in Machinimas
VIP = Special Members and Affiliates
Premium = Donators

I was thinking of merging Premium and VIP, but they are two very different classifications, but have more similarities than any other group.

The main thing to consider, is if you do have enough members aside from these groups. you don't want 10 members with these ranks, then 2-3 members without. may make them feel obsolete.

i understand, the feeling of wanting ALL your active members to have a custom title, but it's really not necessary. Keep things alittle simpler. i would just go with admin, mods, VIP. <--- affiliates and donators all fit in that category

then, with more growth, you can mix it up later in the future.

Yeah thats true, but with some of the ranks they need to have them because they actually are very important on the forus such as my machinima staff. I guess I could put them into the VIP group, but we have this staff list that we update and the VIPs are one of the groups that we update when there are changes, and when more people donate it becomes a real pain in having to do this.

I don't think it's too many at all. Admins and Mods are standard on every forum, so you don't need to worry about those. As for VIP and Premium, I don't see what's wrong with those. So long as they're not over crowded I think it's a good idea, and should inspire people to either contribute and / or donate to be added to either group.

As Hcf said, so long as they're not over-full they're fine. ~smile~

I don't think it's too many. I have more groups than that on my forum, although I am not yet using all of them yet.

I don't think that's too many. As long as they each have a purpose, which yours obviously do, then I believe it's fine. ~smile~

As stated by other users it isn't that many, you can have as many user groups as you like as long as they all have a different purpose, but it will get harder to maintain if you have say 50.

I realize that. Thanks 🙂
