I would purchase one without a CD Rom if it came with a USB with a good amount of space on it.

Other than that most things can be downloaded online such as Microsoft Office etc. I do see that USB are being used more often. There will be a time when CD roms will be gone like the floppy disk.

Yes mine does. I refuse to buy a laptop if it doesn't have one. They're less used nowadays but I like having it for movies and retro games (you know, from before Steam existed). I should get a new one that can read blurays though.

I have a MacBook Pro that doesn't have a CD drive. Never needed a CD for it. If you do need one, you can always get an external CD drive that plugs in via USB

It sure has one. Good to for those games you wanna play sometimes. Or perhaps burn some songs unto a disk to listen to on long car journeys. 😛

I think most laptops have them nowadays, except those really thin laptops. 😱

Mine does! 🙂 I have needed some CD's before but honestly they are so rare nowdays there isn't any point to have one. 😛
