I use it to watch movies that I bought when I don't want to watch it from the TV. But I really don't use the CD Rom much anymore, but yes mine has a CD Rom.
CD-Rom is used from long time ago but I think that computer always need it because sometime when something wrong happen with you USB port and you need to recovery your windows, maybe you must use CD-ROM 🙂
My desktops, and laptops all have CD-ROM drives. I think they are useful for cheaply backing up data to DVD-R discs which are a lot cheaper than USB flash drives and hard drives, and Disc drives are good to use to watch movies.
Nope, my Macbook doesn't have a CD Rom. Actually, my HP doesn't have one either. I had to purchase an external USB one for that computer because I actually had to install something by disc.
Generally, nowadays, laptops don't come with them anymore because almost everything can be bought and virtually installed after downloading to your computer.
My laptop doesn't, and my desktop does. It doesn't have one because it's a HP sleekbook and the thinness/lightness is a main factor. I bought an external disk drive for my laptop so it isn't much of an issue.
My laptop has one. However, I think it's useless because I have not used it for many years. I'm going to replace it as a dock for HDD (after replacing SSD inside)
