What would be some of the reasons to have you location as On on your computer/laptop?

I have my location on, At times I also dislike it. But if you are using google maps allot it can see you the far amount of time as it will know your location 🙂 There are good and bad about it. Most people dislike it having it on as it feels it breaks their privacy and I do not blame them.

Other news 😛
Best location to put the PC or what..? Laptops, people just can do whatever they want.
  • Lay on the bed with it
  • On the bus or train
  • at the dining table
  • on the floor in any part of the house or outside
  • walking around using on hand to type 😛
  • On the big or good size desk in your office.
  • hanging from the roof
  • In space ( who would do that)
  • On the low doing a number two (one and two at the same time)
Desktop
  • On the desk or under the desk, with all great tech around you with three screens. winner 😛

I have location on in order for my calendar to give me a heads up for whenever I should leave from wherever I am for my next appointment 🙂

The weather is one reason I think, or maybe if you search for 'xyz near me' for example. Although it doesn't need your exact location. You should be able to specify where you are yourself by typing it in.

With what's going on around the world and cyber attacked more now then before, got to disable it more then ever 🙁

Nah, I never use the location thing. I remember where I am located. 🙂

Against my better judgement I leave it on. Although I'm a bit of a control freak, living in the modern age requires connectivity to the Internet and if you are connected you are vulnerable. I've long given up checking every file on my PC or wanting my stuff on a disc/cd.

It really comes down to balancing risk. Rightly or wrongly I'm far more worried about ransomware than revealing my location to a weather service and I've yet to be convinced that revealing my location opens me up to disaster... touch wood!

It doesn't need to. Your web provider has all of your personal information. IP address. While a VPN might keep you safe from the bad guys; it's not going to protect you if you're doing illegal shit. The VPN company will simply turn your real IP over to the feds, have fun.
