Does your forum have ads?

My forum has an ad at the top

But my members are pretty much used to it now.

A recent blog I am purchasing I will put ads on it, and for other forums it has to be thought upon.

Be sure to be conservative and not conceal your content with ads.

I do have google ads on my site. The moment I get to the point where i don't need them they will be gone, but that time is far away. 🙁

I aint got any ads atm, But i intend to place some form of ads when my forums start getting busy. I also plan on having memberships to get rid of the ads for a small price.

I have ads because i am hosted on freeForums 🙁
I remember the times when I was on myfreeforum and was paying to get rid of them. Never thought they would be making me money

If we ever put ads on Xugo I think it would probably have to be if we got large enough to use some sort of sponsored ad program, so we can get some actual money and not this per-click nonsense 😛

I have starting allowing people to advertise on my site viewtopic.php?f=78&t=46759
I used to use adbrite and that was paying crap and they sneak a talking ad in there once in a while. Adsense banned me and wont let me back in no matter how many times I appeal or reapply.
Therefore, Ive decided to put up my own ad service. Ive been accepting very low offers lately as things are just getting started and Im used to not making much from adbrite anyways. 😛
Maybe when traffic gets even higher than it is now I can make a little more money.

I actually think having the ads is a good thing. Its a space / content filler and it makes your appear more professional (if the ads are done tastefully and placed in the correct areas). It also allows you to network with other forum/websites and form buisness relationships. 😀

Did they reply to your appeals. Adsense don't like sites that reward members for their participation, such as the way your forum (and FP) award points in exchange for posts.

They banned me for invalid clicks but I wasnt clicking them. I had a member who thought he was helping by clicking the ads a bunch of times everyday. I told him to stop but I suppose he didnt. I told google this but they keep denying me. I reapply every so often and I always get rejected.

I've put ads on the footer of my website and after the first post of a thread and i'm earning around $10 per month revenue on that currently, Then I sell a small banner ad in the footer to someone for $10 a month.

Members know that this is to help pay for the site, upgrades, competitions and what ever else so they don't mind having them as they aren't in the way, They've said they blend in very well after the first post so it doesn't irritate them.

That is always a turn off for me. I wouldn't do that on my forum. The "bubble ads" here on this forum annoy me too so I use the dark skin.
