My school uses Windows 7 even though it hardly runs on those computers with 512MB RAM, everything is opening slowly and we hardly finish up what we're supposed to durning class :S
On mine, desktops have Vista and laptops XP (the laptops are pretty old so they shouldn't really be running anything, they should be in the waste... err, given to me - I could sell the working parts, however these are few).
Before the new desktops, we had pretty old desktops with XP and an average of 5 serious viruses and 30 less important malware, per machine 😀
Now the desktops come with Vista and Linux installed, GRUB for the dual-boot. Curious thing, they upgraded when Windows 7 released - so we naver had an up-to-date OS. Even the Linux distro is old (it's some Portuguese unknown distro, version 10, when the most recent version is version 14).
BTW, we are already going with an average of 0.7 viruses per machine, and this is so low because with the upgrade the number of PCs was increased a lot so we have more than 300 PCs around, and it's difficult to infect them all quickly. (now thinking on network viruses... hahaha)
Well in my school there are around 10 computers with windows 98 😀 All other computers are using XP, except the computers which are use by teachers. They are with Windows 7.
Well my schools has all kinds of OS installed since it is a tech center.(a place to earn certifications for certain things).
However in my class we have windows 98,2000,xp,vista, and seven.
We also have computers with novel netware, ubuntu linux, puppy linux, opensuse linux, freebsd, and even a MSDOS machine for anyone who wants to live in the late 80's again.
