So I kind of need some legal advice on something, I just renamed my site to something else. That name is Edge Gamer under the edgegamer .com domain.

The people of edge gamers (first established) under the edge-gamers .com (note the - in the link) are saying it's infringement upon common law trademark.

So anyone with some legal knowledge, am I in the wrong here?

Heavens no. Forums do not even fall under the Common Law Trademark, it's for commerce sites selling items under their own brand like Old Navy and Pop-Tarts. 😛 Furthermore a common law trademark is anything but a trademark and you have to be in the United States for it to even count, so if your server is in another country, Common Law doesn't exist.

It's literally only for commerce sites who are selling under their own brand, blocking anyone from selling under that same brand name. Actually I should not say "block" but whatever.Forums have nothing to do with Common Law Trademarks. 😛

However I would say using the same name as a forum already isn't in the best of idea's anyway. 😛

P.S: Not a lawyer.

I really didn't realize there was another site in use at the time I was setting mine up which had an s added at the end.

But the site is bigger and since they threaten legal trouble I'm just going to play it safe for now.

Those reading this topic right now, mind what domain links/names you use for your future site(s).

Good luck with this. I guess I always do a lot of research before picking a domain name or even a niche/idea. 😛
