My domain JamieDabrowiecki.com expires tomorrow, and I have to decide whether I'll renew it or get a new domain.

I have seen a cool 2 letter domain with the .pe extension; it's not a domain hack but is related to me. Although, they are $50 a year. Is this worth it?

My other option is a 4 character domain, related to me again but is 2 letters and 2 numbers, and it's a .net.

Should I buy either of these, or renew JamieDabrowiecki.com?

No, .pe is a country-specific extension for Peru.
You are from the UK. It really isn't worth $50. ๐Ÿ˜›

I know, but it's only a 2 letter domain ๐Ÿ˜› out of the other 2 options what would you recommend?

A 2 letter domain is meaningless, except in the sense it's easier to remember. But how are people going to "remember" you? They have to find you first! People are more likely to find you where there's no competition. For starters, a 2 letter domain will probably have tons of competition against TLDs containing only 2 letters...which will have an advantage over your country-specific one, both in TLD and in age. What's more, people will quite happily google what they're looking for and when they find you, you're more likely to match what they're looking for. The chances are, if they're googling for something like "Jamie Dabrowiecki" that they'll find you under JamieDabrowiecki.com. It is highly unlikely that they'll find you under JD.com and even less likely still under JD.pe ๐Ÿ˜Ž

You guessed the domain! ๐Ÿ˜› And to be honest it's not a site I'm trying to get loads of traffic on, just for friends and people that I refer to it, it's more of a journal and portfolio.

The price tag really pushes me away but it would be nice to have a really short domain like that. I think I'll keep looking. The other option was JD30.net.

Thats not how it works ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yes it is a country specific domain, but it is still brandable, surely you know about domain hacks? It's a similar thing to what Jamie is doing (or might be doing).

It looks great. I'm sure it might be worth alot to the right buyer one day if you ever gonna sell that gem of a domain.
